I came into the language teaching profession (in 2002) from a business information researcher background, having also worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Credit Suisse. I also designed websites for a short time and I have a particular interest in learning technology and content development. I have also done voice recording for coursebooks and exams.
In terms of areas of language teaching, Business English, General English, Exam Preparation (primarily Cambridge Suite, IELTS), English for Academic Purposes (EAP) are where as a senior English language teacher, I have gained extensive experience.
Lithuania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Hungary are countries I have taught in at language schools, educational consultancy services as well as universities (University of Durham and University of the Arts London – UAL). In the last few years, teaching online has become my dominant teaching medium. Given the international settings, students I have taught have come from all around the world.
The English language teaching qualifications I hold are the Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA), the Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (DELTA), and a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL). Given my background, I also have a BA in Cultural Studies and an MA in Information Services Management.
In my free time, I enjoy watching football and cricket, and reading contemporary literature. I have an interest in films and history, and am keen on art and photography exhibitions. I also enjoy indoor cycling on my spin bike, baking, Christmas, travelling and cats. And my girlfriend 🙂
